  • Sam has an assistant who answers the phone and sets appointments. Using Exchange hosting, the assistant can manage Sam's appointment calendar since Sam's Outlook calendar is shared. Sam can view and change these appointments from his computer. Sam also has an iPhone. All e-mail, contacts, and calendar events automatically synchronize to his iPhone. If Sam gets a call from a client who needs to change their meeting time, he can review the current meeting time on his iPhone and enter a new time. Within a few minutes, this change is synchronized on the office computer. The assistant also sees the change avoiding setting conflicting appointments. Sam never misses an appointment since Outlook and his iPhone remind him with appointment reminders.

  • Sally has a laptop computer, an office computer, and a home computer. She uses the office computer most of the time to read e-mail, schedule appointments, and lookup contacts. Using Exchange hosting, Sally can take her Internet enabled laptop with her and continue to have all her Outlook folders with her on-the-go. Any changes she makes on the laptop will automatically be updated on both the office and home computers. If Sally runs out of time working on an important e-mail at the office, she can continue from home since the same draft message will be ready to finish on the home computer.

  • The Trident company has 8 employees. Using Exchange hosting, they use a group calendar to schedule company business. Everyone can view the calendar at the office using Microsoft Outlook and from any Internet computer using Microsoft Outlook Web Access. The company is also working on a new proposal. The proposal contains Microsoft Word documents and Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. These documents can be viewed and edited by the team from any Internet computer with Microsoft Office.

  • Austin comes to work one morning and finds his computer won't start up. Using Exchange hosting, it's not a problem. Austin can access his e-mail, contacts, and calendar from another computer using Microsoft Outlook Web Access and keep business going. Since all the data is stored on the server, Austin does not worry about losing important Outlook information.
